Glen Garioch Virgin Oak No. 1 Whisky
Out of stock
Aged in new white American oak casks that have not been seasoned with the usual Bourbon or sherry, or more simply.. virgin oak and as always with Glen Garioch bottled at 48% ABV for added depth and spice which is turned up to the max with the Vigin oak adding even more spice to the mix.
As close as a Scottish single malt gets to being a Bourbon, like an American diner of a breakfast malt, big, sweet, chewy oak and lots of spice.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with warm honey tones and coppery highlights.
Nose
Oily orange rind leads the aroma, a spice-forward bloom of aromatic spices and palma violets, edged with toasted vanilla waffles and creme brulee. Sweet notes of golden syrup in oatmeal drift through, inviting and plush, hinting at the Virgin Oak’s bold, oak-driven depth.
Palate
Dark toffee entwined with spicy vanilla and Demerara sugar, layered with waxy orange, toasted oak and aromatic spices; hints of chocolate emerge as a BBQ-glazed sweetness lingers, like pancakes and syrup in an American diner.
Finish
Sweet, sappy oak lingers with toasted vanilla and orange toffee, unfurling spice notes of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. Creme brulee sweetness emerges alongside a wisp of hickory smoke, a fizzy cola-cube lift, and the kiss of maple wood.
