Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich mahogany amber with copper-gold glow.

Nose

Opulent, sherry-woven nose with ripe fig, dried plum and glazed cherry, lifted by sultana and orange zest. Dark chocolate and espresso deepen the sweetness, while honeyed oak and caramel mingle with warm spices—cinnamon and clove. A final impression of leather and tobacco lends a refined, collectible warmth.

Palate

Silky and refined, the palate unfolds with dried orange peel and fig, spun with cocoa-kissed sweetness. Sherry influence threads through polished oak, with almond, spice and a whisper of espresso. Velvety tannins frame the mid-palate, guiding a long, warm finish of fruit, chocolate and refined spice.

Finish

Long, velvety finish with sherry-draped fruit, cocoa and fig fading into toasted oak and spice. A gentle warmth lingers, leaving a refined nuttiness and a final sigh of tobacco.

(Glen AOL-bin) Glen Albyn was a Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Inverness, founded in 1846 by James Sutherland, Provost of Inverness. Built beside the Caledonian Canal, the distillery had access to Loch Ness water and was located close to Glen Mhor, another lost Inverness distillery. Glen Albyn had a difficult early life, including a fire in 1849, periods of closure, conversion into a flour mill, and a full rebuild by Grigor & Co in 1884.
