Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with mahogany undertones and a coppery, syrupy glow.
Nose
Sweet, solventy aldehydic notes typical of mature grain mingle with heavy PX sherry: coconut ice cream, Battenberg cake and cinema popcorn, all wrapped in stewed-fruit richness.
Palate
Velvety and indulgent, with intense dark chocolate, weighty raisin and sultanas, morello cherries and espresso, and hints of frutta martorana and almond muffins.
Finish
Long and velvety, the finish coats the mouth with dark chocolate and espresso, then unfolds raisin, sultana and morello cherry beneath a warm PX sherry sweetness. Subtle frutta martorana and almond notes persist, finishing with a refined, indulgent warmth.
