Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery-gold highlights and a warm mahogany edge.

Nose

Nuts and rich oak lead the aroma, layered with caramel, coffee and dark chocolate, plus sultanas and figs, with a hint of leather.

Palate

Dates and raisins kiss orange marmalade, while vanilla pods and muscovado sugar lend sweetness, finished with a warm clove spice that lingers.

Finish

Creamy strawberry sweetness lingers, intertwined with toasted oak and a delicate thread of liquorice. The finish is velvety and long, with a whisper of spice and a warm, dessert-like fruitiness that fades smoothly.

Deanston
(DEANS-ton) Deanston began life in 1785 as a cotton mill on the banks of the River Teith near Doune, before Brodie Hepburn converted the site into a whisky distillery in the 1960s. The distillery opened in 1966, with the first single malt under the Deanston name released in 1974. The old mill buildings still shape the site today, including maturation in the former weaving sheds and power generated from the River Teith.
