Distilled at Dalmore Distillery in the Scottish Highlands and matured for 14 years, this independent release from the Darkness range was bottled at 49.1% ABV after a finishing period in Oloroso sherry octave casks, with the cask yielding 255 bottles.
The Darkness series is known for finishing mature whisky in very small octave casks, typically around one eighth the size of a standard cask. This dramatically increases the surface area of wood in contact with the spirit, intensifying the influence of the sherry cask and adding deeper layers of sweetness and spice.
