Daftmill Ex-Oloroso Single Cask #026/2009 Whisky (UK Exclusive) 2009 Vintage
Out of stock
The Daftmill has been matured full term in a first fill ex-oloroso sherry butt, a combination that generally works very well.
The nose offers dry, nutty sherry notes initially, followed by lashings of baking spice, a little time breathing in the glass shows dark chocolate, espresso and blackcurrant jelly.
A full textured palate brings waves of chocolate orange, tobacco and beeswax before ripe peach and some green fruit notes shine through – more balanced than the nose suggested, a wonderful meeting of sherry and Lowland whisky. More spice and coffee lingers on the finish. Another excellent sherried Daftmill.
