Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich sun-kissed amber with coppery highlights and a hint of mahogany.

Nose

Waxy and saline, with bright citrus zest threading through a mineral, maritime core. Rich pear and honeyed apples mingle with subtle almond and soft spice, while a whisper of sherry-cask sweetness lends warm, polished oak depth. Elegantly youthful, coaxing curiosity with every inhale.

Palate

Silky and waxy on the palate, it opens with citrus zest and green apple, then a gentle sherried richness: dried cherry, fig and almond with cocoa notes. Cinnamon and clove mingle with polished oak as subtle coastal brine lingers. Creamy texture rounds to a long, dry finish with hints of dark chocolate and warmth.

Finish

Long, elegant finish with waxy, honeyed notes, coastal saltiness, and a touch of sherry warmth that lingers with orange zest and toasted oak.

(KLINE-leash) Established in 1819 by the Marquis of Stafford in 1819, Clynelish was one of the first purpose-built distilleries. In 1823, the distillery became legal under the Excise Act. Unfortunately due to the recession in 1931 the distillery closed and did not open again until the end of World War II.
