The very dark, lush colour to this dram probably means that it came from a very active ex-Sherry cask.

Tasting Notes
Colour
A dense, almost opaque mahogany hue with warm amber edges.
Nose
An opulent, sherried bouquet of dark fruit and velvet spice. Raisin, fig and date mingle with orange zest, bittersweet chocolate and espresso, while toasted almond, cinnamon and clove add warmth. Beneath, polished leather and cedar notes unfold, a whisper of sea air balancing the lush, cocoa-soaked finish.
Palate
Silky and opulent, this is a sherry-driven palate of fig and raisin, wrapped in dark chocolate, coffee and toffee. Subtle leather and toasted nuts emerge as cinnamon and clove spice warms the tongue. Full-bodied, oily and richly balanced, with a coastal tang and a long, fruit-laden finish.
Finish
An exceptionally long, warming finish that reveals dark fruit compote, fig, and cocoa, escorted by sherry-driven sweetness. A subtle spice note—cinnamon and nutmeg—lingers as the velvet tail fades to a long, dry, slightly oak-inflected finish that leaves a warm, lingering coating on the palate.
