Bottled by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range, this 2004 Bunnahabhain was released in 2023 at 18 years old as part of the bottler’s 75th anniversary series. Matured in an ex-bourbon barrel and bottled at a natural strength of 52.4% ABV, the cask yielded 240 bottles.
The ex-bourbon cask gives this bottling a brighter, more open style than the sherry-led profile often associated with Bunnahabhain. Vanilla, orchard fruit and soft citrus sit alongside the distillery’s naturally weighty, coastal character, making this an appealing cask for those who enjoy a cleaner, more spirit-driven side of Bunnahabhain.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Polished Mahogany.
Nose
Classic sherried nose; sweet and caramelised fruits, honey roasted nuts, waves of cinnamon and clove with a hint of rancio.
Palate
Maple syrup leads with creamy vanilla, dried figs, poached pears and a sprinkle of cocoa. A gentle twist of orange appears in the background.
Finish
Long and sweet with notes of brown sugar, red apples and vanilla custard.
