Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm, honeyed glow; a sunlit, toasted-caramel hue that suggests richness and depth.

Nose

Warm vanilla and toasted oak lead the nose, unfolding into caramel and maple sweetness. Zesty orange peel sparkles with baking spices—cinnamon and clove—while subtle tobacco and leather lend a refined, velvety backbone.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied with creamy vanilla and caramel, framed by toasted oak. Gentle spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—sits with subtle cocoa. Dried fruit notes appear mid-palate, finishing long with warm oak, vanilla and spice.

Finish

Long and oak-forward, this finish offers vanilla-tinged caramel that lingers, revealing warm spice—cinnamon and clove—in toasted oak. A supple sweetness fades to a graceful, lingering dryness that invites another sip.

Buffalo Trace
Buffalo Trace is based in Frankfort, Kentucky, on a distilling site with roots stretching back more than two centuries. The distillery was previously known as O.F.C. and later George T. Stagg Distillery, with figures such as E.H. Taylor Jr., George T. Stagg and Albert B. Blanton all playing important roles in its development. It was one of the few American distilleries allowed to continue operating during Prohibition, producing whiskey for medicinal use.
