Tasting Notes

Colour

Rosé pink with a luminous blush, a delicate peachy glow accented by warm copper undertones.

Nose

Provence rose and coastal sea-salt mingle with black grape skins and redcurrant jelly. Fresh barley adds a grainy edge, while vanilla panna cotta, honey-nut cereal and pomegranate introduce creamy, fruity depth to the aroma.

Palate

Spiced, salted red berries mingle with vanillin and malty oak; strawberry shortbread laces the palate, underscored by redcurrant jelly, leaving a creamy, lightly toasted finish.

Finish

Salty barley lingers, mingling with the perfume of rose wine grape skins. Drying wood tannins frame crunchy red berries, with a final crackle of white pepper that keeps the coastal finish bright.

(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
