Part of a series celebrating notable golf courses, it showcases Bruichladdich’s unpeated house style, where coastal freshness and bright malt character are balanced by gentle oak influence.

Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky is a modern championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus, best known for hosting major events including the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup.

Nose

Fresh coastal breeze carries bright malt with a touch of sea salt. Honeyed vanilla and light citrus lift the nose, while gentle oak adds toasted almond and subtle resin. A delicate, refined Islay aroma—bright, clean, and subtly maritime, with a whisper of dried fruit from its 15-year maturation.

Palate

Coastal brightness coats the palate with citrus zest and honeyed malt, carried on a creamy vanilla spine. A gentle oak backbone adds toasted grain and a whisper of spice, while the 46% ABV delivers a clean, lightly saline finish. Subtle and refined, it reflects Bruichladdich's unpeated, bright Islay house style.

Finish

Long, coastal finish with sea-salt, vanilla and honeyed malt. Bright marine notes linger, balanced by gentle oak spice, leaving a silky, lightly briny warmth that slowly fades into quiet Islay echoes.

(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
