About The Irishman
The Irishman was created by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh as part of Walsh Whiskey’s move into Irish whiskey in the mid-2000s. It was the company’s first whiskey brand, launched in 2007, and it drew on older Irish whiskey styles at a time when the category was still rebuilding its premium reputation.
Since Amber Beverage Group acquired Walsh Whiskey in 2021, The Irishman has remained one of the company’s two flagship brands. The range is now built around a more clearly single malt-led identity, with expressions including The Harvest, Single Malt and older age-stated releases, while keeping the smooth, triple-distilled style that runs through the portfolio.
