About Nc'nean
(Nook-nee-an) Nc’nean is an independent organic Scotch whisky distillery on the Morvern peninsula, on Scotland’s west coast. Founded by Annabel Thomas, the distillery project began in 2013 after she left her job in London, with several years spent raising funds and building the site before production started in 2017.
Sustainability has been central to Nc’nean from the beginning. The distillery uses organic Scottish barley, copper pot stills powered by renewable energy, and bottles its whisky in 100% post-consumer recycled glass. Nc’nean is also B Corp certified and has verified net zero carbon emissions for its distillery operations across scopes 1 and 2.
Nc’nean single malt whisky is designed as a modern, lighter style of Highland Scotch, with fruit, cereal sweetness, gentle spice and fresh oak character. The core Organic Single Malt sits alongside limited releases such as Quiet Rebels and Huntress, giving Nc’nean a clear place among newer Scotch whisky distilleries focused on organic production, experimental cask use and low-impact distilling.
