Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-gold and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Coastal peat and sea-salt rise from a rich sherry backbone, with fig and raisin sweetness. Vanilla, toffee and dark chocolate weave through oaken polish, while iodine-kissed smoke and citrus zest brighten the aroma. At full-strength, the nose feels ancient and maritime, with resinous driftwood lingering in the glow.
Palate
Full-bodied and cask-strength Bowmore unfurls coastal peat with velvety warmth. Molten chocolate, orange zest and dried fig mingle with sherry-softened raisin, vanilla and toasted almond. A delicate iodine kiss and maritime salt weave through the smoke, delivering a long, decadent finish of spice, sweetness and lingering ash.
Finish
An enduring, seafaring finish where peat and smoke linger like embers on a bonfire, interwoven with warmed sherry sweetness, dried fruit and dark chocolate. Salted caramel and iodine kiss the palate, fading into ash and coastal brine, then unfolding a velvety, long-tail fade of spice and oak that echoes the cask’s full-strength depth.
