Bowmore Infrequent Flyers Single Cask #2688 Whisky 22 Year Old · 1997 Vintage
Out of stock
This impressive single cask bottling of Bowmore was matured in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished in a PX Sherry cask. Vibrant tropical and citrus fruits mingle with barley, sweet almond, and darker, Sherry influenced fruit and spice. Less medicinal than many Islay single malts, with aromas and flavours of smoky bonfire, barbecue, and smoked paprika. This whisky offers layers of rich flavour that build towards a long and satisfying finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery-bronze and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Sweet & phenolic; the unmistakable Islay peat reek is softened with age. Cigar smoke, fruity and spicy. Bold notes of burnt toffee. Parma violet notes linger. Mossy and earthy.
Palate
Oily, viscous on the palate, with soft peat and herbal, medicinal notes blending with Demerara sugar, caramelised treacle and cinnamon. Chocolate chip brioche rolls meet blueberries, delivering a lush, decadent sweetness that blankets the mouth.
Finish
Soft and elegant, the finish lingers with gentle peat, caramel sweetness and spice, gradually fading into a refined, smoky resonance.
