The Glendronach has unveiled the House Editions, a new collection of Highland single malt Scotch whiskies inspired by three of Europe’s most culturally distinctive cities.
Created by Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie, the collection introduces The Sevillian Room, The Venetian Room and The Parisian Room. Each expression begins with The Glendronach’s signature use of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks before adding a third cask type chosen to reflect its namesake destination.
The result is a trio that travels from the orange-lined plazas of Seville to the rich desserts and red wines of Venice, before arriving among the patisseries, flowers and Cognac traditions of Paris.
Released as part of The Glendronach’s 200th anniversary celebrations, the House Editions present a new interpretation of the distillery’s richly sherried style while remaining closely connected to the cask maturation that has defined it since 1826.
Although the three House Editions are not currently available from HTFW, whisky enthusiasts can explore the wider Glendronach collection, including its celebrated aged releases, cask-strength bottlings and rare single-cask whiskies.
What Are The Glendronach House Editions?
The Glendronach House Editions are three permanent additions created specifically for global travel retail.
Rather than organising the collection around conventional age statements, each whisky is presented as a different room within the “house of the cultured traveller”.
The concept takes inspiration from founder James Allardice, who was known for hosting guests at elaborate gatherings where stories of distant destinations were shared over whisky.
Each room represents a different European city:
- The Sevillian Room, inspired by Seville
- The Venetian Room, inspired by Venice
- The Parisian Room, inspired by Paris
All three are non-peated Highland single malts, but their individual cask recipes create markedly different flavour profiles.
The collection was developed over more than two years and forms part of The Glendronach’s bicentenary programme, marking 200 years since the distillery was founded in the Valley of Forgue.

Presented in a one-litre bottle and bottled at 43% ABV, it is the most accessible of the three House Editions in both strength and format.
The Sevillian Room Tasting Notes
Nose: Seville orange, honeysuckle and roasted oak, followed by aged leather and warm Mediterranean spice.
Palate: Manuka honey and roasted nuts develop alongside olive oil tostadas, blood orange marmalade and cinnamon.
Finish: Lingering orange peel, toasted nuts and spice, with a subtle café con leche character.
The flavour profile is recognisably Glendronach, but the emphasis on fresh orange, aromatic flowers and Palo Cortado gives it a brighter character than many of the distillery’s darker sherry-led releases.
The Venetian Room
The Venetian Room draws inspiration from Venice’s combination of art, architecture, wine and elaborate desserts.
It brings together:
- Oloroso sherry casks
- Pedro Ximénez sherry casks
- Italian Amarone red wine casks
Amarone is a powerful red wine from the Veneto region, produced using grapes that have been partially dried before fermentation. This process concentrates their sugars, flavours and structure.
Used for whisky maturation, Amarone casks can introduce dark cherry, plum, raisin, cocoa and red berry notes, making them a natural partner for The Glendronach’s sherry-cask character.
Bottled at 46% ABV and presented in a 70cl bottle, The Venetian Room sits at the centre of the collection.
The Venetian Room Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark cherries, blackcurrants and dates, layered with tiramisu, cocoa, amaretti and vanilla spice.
Palate: Honeyed red plum and almond liqueur lead into maraschino cherry, chocolate-covered hazelnut and Black Forest gâteau.
Finish: Forest berries and hazelnut cream remain alongside a rich caramel macchiato note.
This is the most overtly dessert-led member of the House Editions, combining The Glendronach’s dried fruit and chocolate profile with the darker berry character of Amarone wine.
The Parisian Room
The Parisian Room is inspired by Parisian elegance, patisserie and France’s historic tradition of producing fine Cognac.
The whisky is matured in:

Cognac casks introduce a different type of fruit character to the range, moving away from the orange and dark berry notes of the other two editions.
Grapes, orchard fruit, flowers, walnuts and delicate pastry flavours shape the whisky, while Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks retain The Glendronach’s familiar depth.
Bottled at 49% ABV in a 70cl bottle, The Parisian Room is the strongest expression in the collection.

Nose: Honeyed grapes and plums are joined by apple tarte Tatin, elderflower, warm musk and sherried raisins.
Palate: Baked fig galette, glazed walnuts and Medjool dates develop alongside juicy peach, lemon cream croissant and rose.
Finish: Champagne truffle and lingering nutty complexity.

The initial rollout began at major European airports in July 2026, with further launches planned across Asia, India and the Middle East before a wider international activation in October.
This travel-exclusive positioning means the bottles will primarily be found within participating airport and duty-free retailers rather than through the standard domestic whisky market.
