Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Opulent sherried nose of dark fruits—figs, raisins, dates and black cherries—woven with cocoa, toffee and orange zest. Spices emerge—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—alongside polished oak, roasted almonds and a whisper of leather. The warm, cask-strength lift frames a velvety, decadent aroma.
Palate
Velvety and full-bodied on the palate, this Blair Athol delivers bold sherried depth with dark cherries, raisins, and fig, layered over roasted almond and toffee. Rich spices—cinnamon, clove, a touch of nutmeg—emerge against a polished oak backbone, while the high octane grip of 60.2% adds a tactile warmth and a peppery finish.
Finish
Long, decadent finish with sherried dark fruit—raisin and fig—touched by orange zest, cocoa and treacle. Spices rise softly: cinnamon and clove, padded by rich oak and a lingering warmth. Leather and tobacco notes fade slowly, leaving a velvet, resonant memory of the cask.
