Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with a warm ruby-tinged glow.
Nose
A festive, spiced aroma unfolds like mulled wine, with cranberry jelly and tart redcurrants. Red bubblegum and red liquorice mingle with aromatic heather, over earthy smoke. Sweet pink wafers and a touch of vanillin oak add a creamy, confection-like lift to the nose.
Palate
Peppery red berries fuse with meaty, salami-like notes as crunchy cranberry and brambly red fruits mingle with earthy peat smoke. An aromatic, sweet edge hints of strawberries on a heather-smoked barbecue, joined by stewed red plums and rhubarb, a touch of anise and leather.
Finish
Pomegranate molasses lingers with smoked rhubarb, as peppery oak and crunchy tannins frame brambly red fruits. A lingering spice threads through, with red chili heat and an echo of stewed black fruits that lingers long after the sip.
