Sauternes is a sweet pudding wine from the Bordeaux region of France and imparts lots of honeycomb and sweet orange flavours on the whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Glowing honey-gold with warm amber depth and a coppery halo.
Nose
Intense peat smoke mingles with Sauternes-soaked sweetness: honeycomb, orange marmalade and apricot glow beside vanilla-caramel, toasted oak and a waxy fruit richness. A decadent, dessert-wine lift draped over a firmly peated backbone.
Palate
Opulent and honeyed, the palate opens with orange marmalade and peach glaze, then a bold peaty spine. Sauternes maturations infuse syrupy fruit, vanilla and almond, weaving honeyed toffee with citrus zest as smoke lingers. Creamy, oily textures carry subtle spice into a long, smoky finish.
Finish
Long, honeyed and smoky, the finish carries Sauternes sweetness—orange marmalade and honeycomb—balanced by persistent peat. A warm, citrusy fade with toasted oak lingers.
