Pale gold with sunlit amber highlights

Nose

Bright citrus zest and crisp green apple mingle with juicy pear and a touch of honey. Vanilla and light toasted oak lift the nose, accompanied by a gentle spice and soft almond hints. Clean, fresh and inviting, the aroma speaks of Balblair’s orchard-bright Highlands character in a poised, premium bouquet.

Palate

Silky, light-to-medium on the palate, with bright citrus zest, green apple and pear dancing above honeyed vanilla. Subtle oak provides gentle backbone, while a whisper of spice—white pepper and nutmeg—adds lift, finishing clean with a delicate almond-kissed fade.

Finish

Long, graceful finish with sherry-softened sweetness, notes of dried orange and sultanas that linger, followed by subtle spice and a whisper of toasted oak.

Balblair
(bal-BLAIR) Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross at Edderton in the Northern Highlands, overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The distillery remained with the Ross family through much of the 19th century, before being rebuilt in 1894 closer to the railway while continuing to use water from the Allt Dearg burn. Later owners included Hiram Walker, and Inver House Distillers acquired Balblair in 1996.
