After initially maturing in traditional oak casks over a number of years The Arran Single Malt in this bottling was ‘finished’ in a selection of Amarone wine casks sourced from an artisan producer of this iconic Italian red wine.
Arran Master Blender, James MacTaggart, has carefully monitored this period of secondary maturation to ensure the perfect balance is struck between the Amarone casks and the intrinsic sweet-fruity character of Arran Single Malt. The end result is a Single Malt full of charm, complexity and quality.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a subtle ruby glow and coppery mahogany undertones.
Nose
Poached pears and honey lead the aroma, followed by toasted almonds and a subtle cranberry note. With a splash of water, coffee emerges alongside chocolate orange and mellow butterscotch, creating a warm, inviting bouquet with refined sweetness.
Palate
On the palate, dark chocolate and cherry lead, with Turkish delights, stewed fruits and a ribbon of toffee. Rich dark plum warms through, joined by bitter-sweet apricot and a hint of cinnamon, all balanced by a touch of oak and a polished, lingering sweetness.
Finish
Well-balanced and elegant, this finish threads Arran’s finesse with Amarone’s restrained fruit and oak. Concentrated and lingering, it blossoms into dark plum, cherry and cocoa wisps, with a gentle cinnamon spice that remains long after the sip.
