St Drostan's Well, found in the grounds of the Aberlour Distillery, marked the source of an exceptionally pure spring. Indeed, we use the same water today to produce our outstanding whisky. The name Aberlour comes from the Gaelic of 'Mouth of the Chattering Burn'
Douglas Cruickshank, our Master Distiller, has selected the best casks laid down in 1990. This is the way whisky was produced in the 19th century at Aberlour where production was bottled according to seasons or a specific year.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery flashes and a warm, mahogany-hued glow, suggestive of sherry influence.
Nose
Sherry-kissed aromas rise with prune, raisin and fig, brightened by orange zest. Toffee and vanilla layer over polished oak, while a whisper of cinnamon and cocoa adds spice and depth, delivering a warm, luxuriant fruit-forward profile befitting the 1990 vintage.
Palate
Silky and velvety on the palate, this Aberlour unfurls a rich sherried core of fig and raisin, balanced by almond and toffee. Orange zest, cinnamon and clove thread through creamy vanilla oak, while dark chocolate adds depth. A satin mouthfeel leads to a warm, lingering finish of dried fruits and subtle spice.
Finish
Long, silky finish with warming spice and luscious sherry sweetness. Dried orange, raisin and toasted oak persist, mingling with cocoa and almond before fading to a refined, lasting warmth.
