The 12 Year Old Special Reserve is a carefully crafted blend of old Irish whiskeys. They say with age comes wisdom, or in this case, complexity, character and maturity - one of the reasons why this truly unique whiskey has been awarded plaudits in abundance from whiskey connoisseurs around the world.
Like Tullamore DEW Original, Tullamore DEW 12yo Special Reserve is a triple distilled blend of all three types of Irish whiskey. However, it has a high proportion of pot still and malt whiskeys, matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, for 12 to 15 years. A very fine aged whiskey with great complexity.

Colour
Rich warm amber with honey-gold tones and coppery edges, a sunlit, bronze-tinted glow that hints at its aged depth.
Nose
A lively opening of spice gives way to red wine, with a toasted nuttiness and a subtle oak glow from twelve years in oak casks.
Palate
A deep, warming spice carries a robust, creamy mouthfeel, cloaked in chocolatey richness. Dried fruits and toasted nuts mingle with the chocolate, delivering a praline sweetness that lingers with a gentle touch of oak and sherry.
Finish
A long, rich finish that lingers with citrus zest, velvety chocolate, dried raisin notes and a subtle marzipan sweetness.
