About Tullamore Dew
Tullamore D.E.W. takes its name from the town of Tullamore in County Offaly and from the initials of Daniel E. Williams, the distillery worker who rose from stable boy to distillery manager and later owner. The original Tullamore distillery was established in 1829, and Williams became the key figure behind the name that still appears on the label today.
The brand is best known for its triple-distilled Irish whiskey style and for bringing whiskey production back to Tullamore after a long gap. William Grant & Sons acquired Tullamore D.E.W. in 2010, and a new purpose-built distillery opened in Tullamore in 2014. The current site at Clonminch handles distilling in the town once again and remains central to the brand’s identity.
