Located just behind the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery is the historic Blackpitts area of Dublin City. Steeped in manufacturing tradition and formerly home to an abundance of malting houses, it provides the inspiration for the Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt

First Peated Single Malt to have been distilled in Dublin. This is Triple distilled from malted barley and dried over peat fires The whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sauternes French wine casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Toasted clove and cask char come first, followed by butterscotch, pineapple cubes and a drizzle of honey.

Palate

Bonfire embers and chocolate éclairs give way to green pear, alongside a subtle savoury note of meaty malt.

Finish

The finish is long, with plum and apple notes wrapped in peppery oak.

Teeling traces its whiskey roots back to 1782, when Walter Teeling established a distillery on Marrowbone Lane in Dublin’s Liberties. The modern company was founded by Jack and Stephen Teeling in 2012, and the Teeling Whiskey Distillery opened in 2015 at Newmarket as the first new distillery in Dublin for more than 125 years.
