The final release of the four part "Cuatro Series" (Spanish for Four) from The Tomatin distillery that showcases four different Sherry cask finished single malts (Fino, Manzanilla, Oloroso and here Pedro Ximenez)
Aged for 12 years, 9 spent in Ex-Bourbon casks and 3 years in 1st Fill Ex- Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
All four in the series were distilled on the same day (January 15th 2002) and only 1500 bottles of each were released.
A sweet and chewy treat of a whisky and definately no tricks here, just beautifully poised PX cask influenced Highland Malt.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, rich amber with mahogany depths and coppery-gold highlights.
Nose
A rich, indulgent nose of maltloaf, figs in dark honey, coffee and walnut cake, toffee apple, with warming clove and anise spice.
Palate
Sherry soaked raisins, treacle toffee, dark chocolate, aromatic fruit tea, mocha and spicy walnuts.
Finish
An enduring finale of sweet pepper and warm dark ginger, with clove, walnut and treacle tart weaving through, finished by a thread of fruity liquorice.
