Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones, hinting at sherry influence and a warm, inviting glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry-glossed fruit opens the nose: ripe fig, raisin and orange zest, fused with dark chocolate and burnt sugar. Layered spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—drift over vanilla and polished oak. A whisper of sea air and leather adds coastal ballast, finishing with a subtle almond note.
Palate
Opulent and multi-layered on the palate, this Mystery Malt unfurls sherried dark fruit—raisin, fig and cherry—alongside cocoa, coffee and orange zest. Rich toffee and leather weave through a robust oak spice, with a peppery edge. Full-bodied and plush, it coats the mouth, finishing with tobacco, cocoa nibs and a warm, lingering sweetness.
Finish
Long, sumptuous finish with dark fruit and cocoa giving way to warm spice and oak. Raisin and fig linger, touched by caramel, then a graceful fade of cinnamon and clove. Soft tannins keep the sweetness in balance, with a lingering sherry echo that stays etched on the palate.
