An exceptionally mature blended malt Scotch whisky from Thompson Bros, distilled in 1989 and aged for 36 years in a refill hogshead before being bottled at 46.5% ABV.

The long maturation in a relatively gentle refill cask has allowed the character of the whisky to develop gradually, with time and oxidation contributing considerable complexity without excessive oak influence. Tropical and citrus fruits meet herbal, medicinal and subtly savoury notes, before giving way to an elegant palate of fresh fruit, confectionery sweetness and mature vinous character.

A beautifully restrained old whisky that demonstrates the complexity achievable when spirit, cask and extended maturation are allowed to work in harmony.
