Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany glow.

Nose

Opulent sherry-laden aroma with dark fruit richness—ripe raisin, fig and zest of orange peel. Refined notes of toffee, vanilla and cocoa glide over polished oak and spice, with a whisper of leather. Elegantly aged, the scent unfolds in warm mahogany sweetness and timeless collectible grace.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied and richly sherried, with dried fig, raisin, and orange peel accented by toffee. Dark chocolate, walnut, and spice—cinnamon and clove—linger with refined oak and a whisper of leather. A warm, velvet-smooth finish that lingers long and elegant.

Finish

Velvety, long finish with sherry-soft richness: orange zest, dried fig, toffee and dark chocolate unfold, followed by warm spice and polished oak. A lingering, elegant fade of leather and cacao.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
