Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep antique amber with rich mahogany depth and a warm copper-gold glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven aroma of dried orange peel, fig and raisin, braided with dark chocolate and toffee. Spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, a touch of clove—drift over polished oak, leather and tobacco, with a vanilla-cream finish. A refined, time-worn bouquet that hints at decades in oak.
Palate
Silky and elegantly weighted, this 42-year Macallan unfurls a sherried palate of dried fig, plum and orange zest, with dark chocolate, toffee and delicate spice. The texture is refined and velvety, oak impeccably integrated. A long, refined finish lingers with warm spice and subtle fruit echoes.
Finish
Silky and extraordinarily long, the finish opens with burnt orange zest and treacle, then unfolds into dark chocolate, fig, and coffee. Sherry-cask maturity coats the oak with spice and leather, leaving a refined, cocoa-dusted warmth that lingers softly, fading to a velvety, polished glow.
