Fauna inspired Suntory ELK was launched in 1985. It has been matured in white oak barrels using rye from Japan, made with a process similar to the way Canadian whiskey is produced.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with a warm, honeyed glow and a hint of sunlit oak.

Nose

Vanilla and light caramel rise with rye spice and white oak, while citrus zest and crisp orchard fruits brighten the bouquet. A woodland undercurrent of cedar and dried grasses lends refined, airy depth to the nose.

Palate

Silky and light-bodied, with a soft, inviting sweetness. Rye spice threads through creamy vanilla and caramel, while delicate white oak lends subtle structure. Subtle citrus zest and pear notes brighten the mid-palate, finishing with a smooth, clean echo of spice and a whisper of toasted oak.

Finish

A long, refined finish that reveals gentle rye spice and toasted white oak, with a soft honeyed sweetness lingering warmly and fading to a clean, graceful echo.
