To celebrate Strathearn’s distinctive character and the dedication invested in creating its richly layered spirit, Batch 03 has been crafted using the same meticulous cask selection as its predecessor: ex-Bourbon, Virgin Oak, and ex-Sherry Oak casks. This release places a greater emphasis on Sherry cask influence, resulting in an inviting nose of toasted malt and barley sugar, enriched by notes of dark honey and warming spice.
On the palate, buttery biscuit sweetness unfolds alongside layers of chocolate and toffee, leading to a long, satisfying finish marked by oak, cocoa, and soft leather.
Batch 03 is a vatting of 31 carefully selected casks, drawn from both inherited stocks and spirit matured under Douglas Laing’s stewardship.
