Strathclyde Infrequent Flyers Single Wine Cask #1432128 Whisky 9 Year Old · 2014 Vintage
Out of stock
The Infrequent Flyers range is a series of independent single cask bottlings from the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, created to showcase distinctive and often unusual casks from distilleries across Scotland. Each release highlights the unique character of an individual cask, with selections often coming from distilleries or cask types that are rarely seen as single malt releases.
Bottled in small batches or as single casks, Infrequent Flyers whiskies are typically presented without chill filtration or added colouring, often at natural cask strength, allowing the whisky’s full character and personality to shine through. The name itself reflects the rarity of these releases - whiskies that appear only occasionally, offering enthusiasts the chance to experience something a little different from the ordinary.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a honeyed, wine-kissed glow.
Nose
There is no mistaking that sweet, solventy, aldehydic burst of toasted coconut, Battenberg cake and floral, perfumy notes. Welcome to single grain central!
Palate
Vibrant and full of vigour. Lashings of almonds, marzipan and cherry Bakewells from the grain, complemented by some gorgeous flavours drawn from the red wine cask - raisins, apricots and cranberries. There's a little pepper, and oodles of Demerara sugar.
Finish
Long and warming, this finish folds red-wine depth into grain sweetness: dried apricots, raisins and cranberries linger with almond notes, a peppery lift, and a Demerara-sugar glow that slowly fades to velvet warmth.
