Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich amber-gold with coppery highlights.

Nose

Rich and inviting, with notes of vanilla bean, caramelized sugar, and honeyed cereals, complemented by coconut, crème brûlée, toasted oak, ripe bananas, and a hint of citrus zest.

Palate

Smooth and well-rounded, the palate unfolds with sweet vanilla, toffee, and butterscotch, a creamy texture carrying custard and toasted coconut, lifted by gentle bourbon-spice from the barrels.

Finish

A long, satisfying finish that lingers with vanilla sweetness and soft oak tannins, followed by honeyed notes and toasted almonds. Gentle spices weave in, ending on a warm, subtly dry note with citrus zest and creamy coconut echoing in the aftertaste.

Strathclyde
(strath-CLYDE) Strathclyde was founded in Glasgow in 1927 by London distiller Seager Evans, on the site of an old cotton mill in the Gorbals. It was originally built to produce neutral grain spirit for gin, before moving into Scotch whisky after Seager Evans bought the Long John brand in 1936. The distillery later gained an unusual extra chapter in its history when the Kinclaith malt distillery operated within the same site from 1957 to 1975.
