Tasting Notes

Nose

Intense peat smoke dominates the nose, entwined with medicinal iodine and maritime brine. Shades of charred timber rise from the glass, with ash and a subtle sweetness of vanilla and molasses lurking in the background, giving a cloak of warmth to the Islay fire.

Palate

Coats the palate with thick maritime peat and bold smoke, unveiling charcoal, iodine and sea-salt. Peppery spice and espresso bite sharpen the profile, while hints of treacle and dark chocolate weave through a touch of sweetness. Oak tannins dry the finish to a long, ash-dusted, medicinal finale.

Finish

Extremely long, smoky finish; peat lingers with briny sea spray and a mineral bite. Peppery warmth coats the palate, fading slowly through char and ash into a dry, coastal finale.
