Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper highlights and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Powerful coastal peat smoke rises from the glass, braided with iodine and sea-salt. Beneath, sherry sweetness reveals raisin, fig and dark chocolate, threaded with vanilla and spice. Oak resin and burnt sugar add depth, while a bright citrus zest lifts the aroma. Intense Islay character, maritime and alluring.
Palate
Oil-rich and fiercely peated, it coats the palate with medicinal smoke and sea-salt brine. Dark fruit and cocoa hint beneath the smoke, while peppery spice and a touch of sherry sweetness lift the mid-palate. A long, warming finish of ash and charcoal lingers from the high ABV.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with maritime peat and charred wood, lifted by sherried sweetness. Dried orange zest, plum and cocoa drift through the palate, punctuated by peppery spice. A warm, lingering heat fades to a subtle brine, echoing the Islay sea.
