Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright and aromatic, honeyed malt mingles with toasted hazelnuts and ripe orchard fruits. Delicate notes of orange blossom, pale oak and a hint of sea salt linger.

Palate

Rich and balanced, dried apricots and gentle spice. Tropical fruits sweetness, mango & pineapple with dry sherry nuttiness and soft vanilla oak. Hints of mineral salt and white pepper emerge toward the finish.

Finish

Light toffee, and a touch of citrus peel fade into dry oak and a gentle warmth.

(pen-DERR-in) Penderyn was founded in 2000 in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, becoming the first whisky distillery in Wales in more than a century. The idea began in the late 1990s, when a group of friends set out to revive Welsh whisky, and the first Penderyn single malt was launched on St David’s Day in 2004 in the presence of Prince Charles.
