Penderyn Icons Of Wales #12 - Copperopolis Single Malt Welsh Whisky
In stock
Swansea became known as Copperopolis because from 1720, 50% of the world’s copper and 90% of the UK’s copper was smelted in the area. Penderyn’s new distillery is in the powerhouse of the old copperworks building.
In 1980 production of copper ceased when the Hafod works closed, but in 2023 Penderyn Distillery Swansea forged a new future for Copperopolis, mastering the elements of Wales once more to create the precious liquid Aur Cymru, the Gold of Wales.
