This single malt whisky is a vatting of mostly double distilled, ex-bourbon matured whisky with a smaller proportion of single-distilled, STR cask finished single malt.

This is the first Penderyn release mostly based on single malt from the set of double stills that were installed at the distillery back in 2014.

Number 8 in the much collected icons series.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Elegant and floral with light oak notes, vanilla, raisins, toffee apples, citrus peel and a hint of lime.

Palate

A delicate smooth single malt with honeyed fruits, vanilla, cinnamon spice and a hint of nutmeg.

Finish

Soft honey and vanilla notes fade to a malty finish.

Penderyn
(pen-DERR-in) Penderyn was founded in 2000 in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, becoming the first whisky distillery in Wales in more than a century. The idea began in the late 1990s, when a group of friends set out to revive Welsh whisky, and the first Penderyn single malt was launched on St David’s Day in 2004 in the presence of Prince Charles.
