Distillery Bottling
Nc'nean makes a big impression with the smallest footprint. Every bottle is certified organic, made in their verified carbon neutral distillery and bottled in a 100% recycled glass bottle. Made from organic Scottish barley whose natural yields and rich soils contribute depth of flavour. The gentle fermentation and distillation accentuate the delicate, fruity flavours in the spirit. Matured in specially treated red wine and American whiskey barrels to develop the spirit’s signature body and sweetness.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and a honey-gold undertone.

Nose

Bright orchard fruit and red berry aromas mingle with vanilla and soft oak. A delicate floral lift, notes of cocoa, and a whisper of spice emerge, guided by a refined red-wine sweetness and creamy whiskey-barrel character.

Palate

Silky and fruit-forward on the palate, Nc'nean Batch #4 reveals ripe apple and plum alongside red-berry notes from the red wine cask influence. Red wine undertones bring jammy cherry with a touch of grape tannin weaving through a velvety, medium-bodied profile. Subtle vanilla and oak spice lift the sweetness, finishing balanced, warm and persistent.

Finish

Long, silky finish with red-berry sweetness and vanilla–caramel warmth. Red wine casks contribute soft tannins and a hint of dark chocolate, while American oak delivers subtle spice, finishing in a refined, lingering glow.

Founded by Annabel Thomas, the distillery project began in 2013 after she left her job in London, with several years spent raising funds and building the site before production started in 2017.
