Loch Lomond Infrequent Flyers Single Pedro Ximenez Cask #6353 Whisky 16 Year Old · 2005 Vintage
Out of stock
A 16 Year Old, Single Cask, Single Malt Whisky from the peated Croftengea from Loch Lomond distillery bottled at cask strength of 56.4% and one of just 605 bottles.
Contrasting aromas of brown sugar, cinnamon, iodine and star anise hit the nose. This expression has an excellent balance with the backdrop of peat softening the fruity influence from the Sherry cask. The finish is long, sweet and smoky.
The Alistair Walker Whisky Company was founded in 2018 and specialises in bottling Single Cask releases of Scotch Single Malt and Single Grain whiskies. The inaugural release of their flagship brand "Infrequent Flyers" was released in July 2019, with the focus being on lesser known distilleries that are of excellent quality, but have never been widely or consistently available. All small batch releases that are bottles at cask strength, with natural colour, and un-chill filtered.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, glossy mahogany with burnished copper edges and a rich, sherry-darkened amber glow.
Nose
Brown sugar, cinnamon, iodine and star anise surge from the glass, with peat softly weaving through a Pedro Ximenez sherry backbone. Fruit-forward sweetness balances spice and smoke, creating a warm, inviting aroma with poised, lingering depth.
Palate
On the palate, a rich, oil‑slick mouthfeel coats the tongue. Brown sugar and PX sweetness mingle with raisin and fig, with cinnamon and star anise giving spice. Peat sits in the background, softened by the sherry cask, leading to a long, sweet, smoky finish.
Finish
Long, sweet and smoky, with Sherry warmth lingering beside gentle peat. Brown sugar and cinnamon echo on the finish as iodine and star anise recede, leaving a maritime, enduring smoke.
