This single malt was distilled at the Linkwood distillery in 2013. The whisky was allowed to mature for 9 years, with an additional finishing period in Sauternes wine cask wood.
(LINK-wood) Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown on the Linkwood Estate near Elgin, with production beginning in 1825. His son William Brown rebuilt the distillery in 1874, and the Brown family remained involved until the Linkwood-Glenlivet Distillery Company was formed at the end of the 19th century. Scottish Malt Distillers took control in the early 1930s, bringing Linkwood into what later became Diageo.
