Released in 1996
The first gold medal awarded to Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey took place in 1904 when Jack entered his whiskey in competition at the World’s Fair in St. Louis, Missouri.
Nearly a century later, in 1996, the Distillery debuted the Gold Medal Series with the 1904 Gold Medal commemorative bottle to recognize this prior achievement. Beginning in 1996 and continuing for the next 10 years, the Jack Daniel Distillery released its Gold Medal Series of commemorative bottles.
Comprised of seven unique designs, each bottle in this series celebrates a different gold medal won by the Distillery. In the U.S., the series featured 750ml bottles filled with 90 proof whiskey. International markets offer these bottles only in a 1 litre size, with the exception of the first bottle in the series which was available only in the 750ml size.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm amber with sunlit honey-gold highlights and a subtle coppery glow.
Nose
Opulent vanilla and toffee intertwine with caramelized corn and toasted oak, a honeyed sweetness brightened by citrus zest. A whisper of brown spice and a touch of char bring depth, finishing with a refined, warm aroma that hints at the whiskey's Tennessee soul.
Palate
Silky and inviting, caramel and vanilla lead the palate, tempered by toasted oak. Honeyed sweetness coats the tongue, then soft spice—cinnamon and clove—emerges with subtle dark fruit. Creamy mid-palate gives way to a warm, enduring finish of oak, gentle smoke, and lingering sweetness.
Finish
Long, warm and velvety, this finish coats the palate with caramelized vanilla, toffee and a soft kiss of toasted oak. Subtle orange zest and spice weave through the sweetness, lingering into a mellow, refined fade.
