Distilled at Glenrothes Distillery in Speyside and matured for 12 years, this independent release from the Darkness series was bottled at a powerful 61.1% ABV after a finishing period in Oloroso sherry octave casks, with the cask yielding 365 bottles.
The Darkness range is known for finishing mature whisky in very small octave casks (around 50–60 litres). This increases the wood-to-spirit contact and rapidly intensifies flavour, giving the whisky a deeper sherried character than standard maturation alone.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with burnished copper highlights and a warm ruby edge.
Nose
Old oak furniture, sweet caramel and new leather rise from the glass, with bright hints of caraway and cardamom.
Palate
Immediately sweet with a full mouth-coating texture, notes of raisins and toffee, plus fudge and dark chocolate.
Finish
An opulent, long finish where sweetness remains and gives way to warm spice and wine-soaked depth. Raisin, toffee and dark chocolate mingle with overt Oloroso sherry notes, as oak loosens into a final, lingering warmth.
