Glengoyne 18 Year Old is a sweet, mellow, easy drinking single malt enriched by maturation in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. The whisky has a rich, luxurious mouthfeel, and flavours of spiced vanilla, ripe apples, chocolate coated raisins, and nutty flapjack.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with a warm, burnished copper glow and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Honey on brown bread and maltloaf opens to sherry-soaked sultanas, mixed nuts and grape jelly, with hints of baked apples and nutty flapjack—a warm, inviting aroma.

Palate

Treacle tart, nutty flapjacks, grapey and buttery, plum jam, baked apple strudel, caramelised brown sugar.

Finish

Juicy sultana and raisin linger with baked apples, honey and brown sugar, and a ribbon of golden syrup. Subtle coffee and walnut cake notes emerge, all wrapped in a buttery, malty finish with a gentle spice.

Glengoyne
(glen-GOY’n) Glengoyne was founded in 1833 and is one of the few distilleries to pair a Highland spirit with warehouses that sit across the Highland Line in the Lowlands. Originally known as Burnfoot Distillery, it developed from earlier illicit distilling on the site before becoming Glengoyne, and it has been owned by Ian Macleod Distillers since 2003.
