Glenfiddich Rare Collection Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40 Year Old
Out of stock
A very limited batch of just 600 bottles of a 40 year old Glenfiddich.
Aged in the finest European Oloroso sherry and American bourbon casks, a rare whisky acquiring an exquisite complexity of fragrance and flavour. But the whisky also benefits from the time the craftsmen from Glenfiddich have spent looking after it, especially the expert Malt Master, who personally noses and tastes every cask, an intensely time-consuming process.
After handpicking each whisky, he then marries them together to achieve their final sublime harmony.
As you will see from the unique number on each bottle of Glenfiddich 40 Year old, it is a highly sought-after and precious whisky, the product of only a couple of handpicked vattings a year with an outturn of only 600 bottles.
This particular Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the oldest bottlings and rare masterpieces of Glenfiddich.
A truly outstanding whisky, presented in a super high quality lockable wooden presentation box. Each bottle is individually numbered - a remarkable whisky and very hard to find!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and rich mahogany undertones.
Nose
Rich, opulent nose that unfolds with aged elegance: dark toffee and caramel melded with dried fruits—raisin, fig, and date—ebony sherry richness from European Oloroso mingling with velvety vanilla and soft spice. Hints of orange zest, toasted almond, and polished oak linger, a refined perfume that promises depth from 40 years in cask.
Palate
Silky and opulent on the palate, a cascade of dried fig, prune and orange zest, braided with dark chocolate and toffee. Sherry-rich depth from European Oloroso meets vanilla warmth and spice from the bourbon casks, elegantly integrated. Frame of polished oak and a subtle tannic grip carries through a long, warming finish of toasted nuts, leather and cinnamon.
Finish
An exceptionally long, velvety finish; Oloroso-sherry depth pours a constellation of dried fruits—raisin, fig, orange peel—alongside polished oak and supple toffee. Spices—cinnamon, clove—unfold slowly, then retreat to a warm, resonant glow that lingers with refined, luxurious presence.
