Glendullan Dun Bheagan Single Cask #5896 Whisky 20 Year Old · 1999 Vintage
Out of stock
Most often seen in the Singleton livery, where the distillery's light and fruity chareacrter comes through. This independant bottling is a rather different beast, aged for 20 years in a Bourbon Barrel (#5892) which yielded 233 bottles. This cask strength version is bigger, richer and punchier on the finish. It still retains the graasy freshness of the younger bottlings but has an additional maturity and weight to it.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with sun-gold highlights and coppery undertones.
Nose
Vanilla and creamy toffee from the bourbon cask fuse with Glendullan’s grassy freshness. Green apple and pear lift with orange zest, light oak and a kiss of spice; a warm, waxy bouquet that hints at age and depth while remaining inviting.
Palate
Vanilla and honey sweetness opens, with vanilla bean, toffee and bright orchard fruit. The mid-palate is full and creamy, carrying oak-spice notes of cinnamon, white pepper and nutmeg. Bourbon cask influence brings vanilla, coconut and a glossy toffee edge. The finish is long, weighty and warming, with persistent spice and caramel-oak that lingers punchily.
Finish
Long, powerful finish dominated by vanilla and oak from the bourbon cask, with citrus zest and toasted spice emerging as it lingers. The cask-strength heft coats the palate with warmth and weight, yet preserves a grassy freshness that slowly fades to a refined, persistent tail.
