Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a warm, honey-gold glow.
Nose
Initial aromas of homemade baking: vanilla extract, melted marshmallow, pear-and-almond tart with a butter shortbread crust and sugar doughnuts. It evolves into strong black tea and blackcurrant-and-apple cordial, delivering a layered, inviting aroma with a silky warmth.
Palate
On the palate, slightly tart with grapefruit juice and under-ripe tamarind. A spritz of horseradish heat and fresh spearmint lift the mouth, yielding lemongrass, gooseberry jam and thick raspberry syrup.
Finish
Silky, savoury finish reminiscent of warm focaccia, dotted with pine nuts and watercress; a lingering sweet-bitter note, with stewed rhubarb and a touch of brown sugar.
