Matured in a single refill hogshead and bottled at 46.7% ABV, this 38-year-old Glenburgie is presented in Whiskyland as old-school whisky in its most unadorned form. With just 168 bottles released, it is a long-aged refill cask whisky that lets the distillate remain firmly at the centre, delivering elegance, quiet complexity and a beautifully natural sense of maturity.
This is exactly the kind of whisky where long ageing and refill wood work together rather than compete. The profile is expansive and detailed, with fruit, beeswax, honey and barley sweetness all still vividly alive after nearly four decades in cask.
